To the Sea
I’m a river, I was a stream
From the Rockies, running clean
I traveled far, I traveled wide
Just to be deep, down inside
I’m a storm, I was a breeze
From the desert, now through the trees
I swept the plains with my dance
And I’ll prevail, give me the chance
To the sea, to the bone
To the sea, it’s where I’m going
To the sea, where I belong
To the sea, I’m going home
I’m a king, I was a fish
Yukon kisses, just one wish
Give me strength to clear the dams
So I can live out who I am
To the sea, to the bone
To the sea, it’s where I’m going
To the sea, where I belong
To the sea, I’m going home
I’m an old man, I was a son
I raised a family, now I’m done
My back is worn, my mind don’t know
But one thing now, where ashes go
To the sea, to the bone
To the sea, it’s where I’m going
To the sea, where I belong
To the sea, I’m going home
