Carbon on the Half Shell

Carbon on the Half ShellMark Holmes
00:00 / 04:03

I live at the bottom of Bouillabaisse

Where it’s more acidic every day

Where greenhouse gas drives PH deep

Now, I pray the Lord my shell to keep

Carbon on the half shell seasoned with two o’s

Everything is simmering in trouble down below

Gonna cost more clams than you’ll ever know

Let me tell you dissolution

Ain’t the way to go

I bust my valves doing chores

But I can’t keep up, no my shell needs more

I’m way too tired for love or food

I got nothing left to breed my brood

Carbon on the half shell seasoned with two o’s

Everything is simmering in trouble down below

Gonna cost more clams than you’ll ever know

Let me tell you dissolution

Ain’t the way to go

Carbon sinks and toilets flush

Farms run off in a downstream rush

I lost my baby she got squished to mush

In a detrimental,

Incidental crush (it was nasty)

I ain’t happy as a clam

But I got not choice, it’s what I am

I could use some benthic love

And a lot less carbon from above

Carbon on the half shell seasoned with two o’s

Everything is simmering in trouble down below

Gonna cost more clams than you’ll ever know

Let me tell you dissolution

Ain’t the way to go

If I could, I would run away

But I’ve only got one foot

So, I won’t be ankling today

I live at the bottom of Bouillabaisse
